Definitely. In the mountainous surroundings of Bad Sooden-Allendorf, mountain bikers will find everything they desire: from challenging climbs to tricky descents, riding over roots and rocks.
You will find numerous trails around the little town of half-timbered houses. There is a total of 23 listed trails (700 km) in the valley of the river Werra “Werratal” and the nature park “Meißner-Kaufunger Wald”. These trails are partly way-marked and all available as a download for your GPS.
You can easily combine the individual trails and access the starting points via public means of transport.
The mountain bike trails range from easy to difficult. Many of them pass some of our well-known sights, such as the remains of an ancient Roman camp, the brooks and meadows (Bruchteiche) or the border museum “Schifflersgrund”. You will find a combination of forest roads and singletrack trails.
The trails 5, 6 and 7 start at the central station in Bad Sooden-Allendorf.
